Meet Our Team

Meet the friendly staff at Blackstone Animal Clinic!

Receptionists

  • Donna Orange

Donna joined the Blackstone Animal Clinic team in 2011, as one of our receptionists.  She grew up and still lives in Blackstone; with her husband, a Chihuahua, Doodle Bug, and their calico cats, currently numbered at five.  Working at an animal clinic, though, that number is subject to change at any time. She previously operated a wonderful cat rescue called Critter Care which is how Dr. Carr and she first became acquainted in 2003. Her hobbies include crafting, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and reading.  She also loves being outside in the warmer times of year working in the yard or flower garden, or relaxing with a good book on the patio.

  • Kristen Richardson

Kristin has been working at Blackstone Animal Clinic since 2015 as a receptionist and occasional veterinary assistant.  She brought with her one year of great experience from a Richmond veterinary clinic and was hired on the spot while in an appointment with her cat, Saber!  Kristen is now training to become a licensed veterinary technician. Her hobbies include riding four wheelers, fishing, camping, and cuddling her two cats, Riley and Saber, and her beagle, Biscuit. Remember… You never know when you are being interviewed!

  • Courtney Worsham

Courtney is a 2017 Virginia Tech graduate with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences degree.  Let’s Go, Hokies!  Since graduating and then joining our team in August, she is continuing her education at Penn Foster to get her Veterinary Technician degree.  Courtney doesn’t waste any time!  Her passion for all sorts of animals, even reptiles and amphibians, began at a very young age.  In her free time she enjoys hunting, fishing, softball, volleyball, and spending time with her cattle dog, Tuck.

  • Courteney Rife

Courteney and her husband, Hans, were long time clients of the clinic before we recruited her in 2011 as a receptionist. She graciously accepted and has been providing excellent customer service and organizing our team and files ever since.

Courteney's husband, Hans, is our much appreciated IT go to guy and fixer of all things computer related. If we can find job opportunities for their many feline companions, we will have the entire family on the payroll! Courteney is a William and Mary graduate and she considers herself lucky to be able to work in a place where her love of animals is fulfilled every day. When she is not working she cares for many wonderful cats and enjoys physical fitness. Courteney’s hobbies include reading, writing, animals, and mud runs.

An animal lover since she could walk, Karen was thrilled to pursue a second career where she could draw upon her customer service skills and enter the veterinary world. She has found her “furever” home at Blackstone Animal Clinic, where she is blessed to have wonderful co-workers and clients.
